Happy New Year’s Eve, everyone!  As this year comes to an end, it’s time to reflect on the past year.  I have had a lot happen in the past year….I completed my dietetic internship, wrote/defended my thesis, received my Master’s degree, got my first “big girl” job, became an aunt, moved back home to be closer to family, lived by myself!  Those are just a few of the many things that happened in 2012!!

I don’t like to make New Year’s resolutions…I prefer to use the new year as a time to make new goals instead.  When I write goals down, I am much more likely to try my best to achieve them.  So, here is a blog post about my 2013 goals…that way you can all help keep me on track to meet my goals 🙂

2013 Goals
1> Run a half marathon. In order to complete this goal, I will hopefully run a 5k, 10k and eventually a half marathon.  I am NOT a runner….so this is a difficult goal for me.  But, I’m ready for the challenge!     half marathon

2>Be as healthy as I can be.  This goal includes my eating habits and exercise habits.  My workout routine changes frequently, so I don’t want to list specific workouts that I will do…just as much as I can as often as I can.  As far as food, I eat healthy most of the time.  But, I want to focus on this a little more in the upcoming year!

3>     Complete my group fitness certification.  This has been a goal of mine for a long time.  Time to make it happen!

4>     Buy a house.  Definitely not a fitness/health related goal…but an exciting one!  This will hopefully happen sooner than later!

5>     Be more consistent with my blog.  I am hoping to blog at least twice/week.

6>     Start my own nutrition-related business.  As a dietitian, I am passionate about helping people improve their health.  I enjoy working at a hospital/nursing home, but also want to start helping people in a more preventative nature.  If any of you are dietitians, you know that the reimbursement/insurance billing is very confusing for dietitians!  (So, let me know if you have any tricks to share)!! dietitian

I think these goals are a great starting point!  I will try to do monthly updates on what I have accomplished/what goals I have added!

What are your goals for the New Year???  Do you like to make New Year’s resolutions???
