As a Registered Dietitian, I think a lot about nutrition and health. My health and nutrition philosophy is constantly evolving and changing. I am an advocate of preventative healthcare. It is so imporant to take the steps to avoid any preventable illnesses and diseases. As the name of my blog implies, I firmly believe that life is all aboutbalance!
Nutrition is simply the process of being nourished. Food is a necessary component of life. My personal food philosophy focuses on eating whole, fresh food as much possible while incorporating plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats and protein. I try to avoid processed food for the most part…the less un-natural ingredients on a label the better! As much as I love healthy eating, I think that in order to maintain quality of life you have to indulge every now and then!
Exercise is also an important part of living a balanced, healthy life. I love to exercise and enjoy trying new exercises! My exercise motto is “I never regret it when I do it, but I ALWAYS regret it when I don’t”! Even the smallest amount of exercise is better than nothing.
I am still striving to reach my ideal health balance! As a recent graduate, I am embarking on a new journey in my life and hope to continue focusing on my own health and well-being while helping others improve their health in my career as a registered dietitian.
